A New Decade of Social Media: How to Keep Your Student Safe

Facilitators: Ashley Christ and Keith Shores

Have you ever wondered why your teenager won’t just put their phone down and have a conversation with you? The digital world that our students live in can be confusing and difficult to understand, especially in its ever-evolving state. The goal of this session is to provide information and dialogue surrounding why teens engage on digital platforms, how they are using platforms that are currently relevant, and what you can do as a parent to keep your student safe online. (This parent-favorite from last year has been updated with new information relevant to 2020)

Relationship Killers—Handling Your Teen's Exposure to Video Games, Porn, Vaping, and More

Facilitator: Chad Herman

Students today are faced with so many new challenges and temptations. Video games consume their time and the average child is exposed to pornography earlier and earlier. With vaping also on the rise, this can all be overwhelming. In this session, we want to talk about these issues and give you practical tips on how to help your teens with the challenges they are facing.
