Coronavirus Precautions at LCBC

Posted on March 06, 2020

As a church, it’s our goal to closely monitor the news and use wisdom and common sense as information comes in regarding COVID-19 (the coronavirus) to determine how best to prepare and respond as new developments occur. At this time, we’re taking necessary precautions to ensure safety for all of our communities in the following ways:

  • We have a team closely monitoring the situation and advising leadership with recommendations for any precautions or next steps that need to be taken
  • We are working with our local campus teams to ensure frequent and regular cleaning schedules are occurring and have already verified that our cleaning products meet or exceed CDC recommendations
  • Additional hand sanitizer products have been ordered and we will be increasing the number of sanitizing stations at our locations
  • While as a church we value personal connection and touch, we believe it's wise to refrain from unnecessary physical contact at this time, and we've instructed our Guest Experience Teams, including our Student Ministry and kidMinistry Teams, to adhere to that as well
  • We're asking that if you or someone in your family is feeling sick, you would please stay home and take advantage of our Church Online streaming option

Additionally, there are some precautions that you as an individual can take to ensure that you’re using wisdom to prevent spreading of the coronavirus and staying healthy:

  • Pray for continued safety and protection for our church and our communities, and pray for the communities and individuals that have already been impacted
  • Use wisdom and common sense and refrain from handshakes and unnecessary physical contact with others
  • Follow the CDC recommendations regarding prevention of spreading the virus, including:
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
    • If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
    • Stay home when you are sick
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
  • If you or someone in your family is feeling sick, please stay home and take advantage of our Church Online streaming option

We don't want to create any unnecessary fear or panic, however, we do want to respond with wisdom and ensure the safety and health of our church family and staff. We will continue to monitor and respond with updates as necessary.

Please pray for continued safety and wisdom for our church and communities. And if you or someone in your family is feeling sick, please stay home and take advantage of our Church Online streaming option.
