LCBC + Parker Hill Church Join Together to Reach PA
LCBC Church and Parker Hill Church have voted to affirm joining together to become one church under the name LCBC in an effort to continue introducing people to Jesus across the state of Pennsylvania.
For the past 15 years, LCBC and Parker Hill Church have been connecting, learning, and growing alongside one another. Early in 2020, leadership from both churches spent time discussing, evaluating, and praying about the possibility of joining together to become one church working towards this mission, and on the weekend of June 5/6/7 2021, a vote from the congregation of both churches affirmed this decision.
Parker Hill Church has been a part of the Northeast PA (NEPA) community for over 50 years. Currently they are one church in three physical locations - Clarks Summit, Dickson City, and Wilkes-Barre - as well as online, and have a weekly attendance of approximately 1,900 people. Parker Hill’s mission is to help people find the way back to God.
LCBC’s Senior Pastor David Ashcraft and Parker Hill’s Lead Pastor Mark Stuenzi have been friends and colleagues for many years, and have spent the past 10 years meeting regularly. When Mark Stuenzi decided it was time to retire, Parker Hill’s leadership and LCBC’s leadership began discussing what a joining of the two churches could look like. This decision stems from a lot of conversation and prayer, but at its core the two churches believe that they will be better and more effective at reaching the state with the love of Jesus than they are apart from one another.
Parker Hill Church’s three campuses will join LCBC’s 15 current locations across the state as well as a growing online community, and become one church home under LCBC’s name. We’re looking forward to all that God is going to do as we partner together to reach PA as one church.
