LCBC Update: New Discoveries & Easter At LCBC

Posted on April 07, 2020

A message from David Ashcraft

Dear LCBC Friends and Family,

Someone mentioned to me yesterday that we are about two weeks away from seeing everyone’s true hair color – won’t that be exciting!

Whether you are in the healthcare profession, recently laid off from work, or fortunate enough to still have a job but working from home – please let us know how we can be praying for you and supporting you during this difficult time. Simply go to and click on the “Submit A Prayer Request” button.

And for those with young children at home – you’re being reminded daily why you chose not to homeschool your kids in the first place! So be sure to check out all of the great content that is available for you, your kids, and your teens at

We’ve been experiencing an amazing uptick of folks connecting with us on Church Online – up over 39% in the last three weeks! How cool it was for over 20,000 of us to share Communion together from home? A new first!

Now Easter weekend is here – and it couldn’t have come at a better time! What better way to take our eyes off all the troubles surrounding us than to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and that fact that Jesus is alive.

What we have discovered over the past few weeks is that God is giving us an amazing opportunity to invite family and friends to visit LCBC online who never would have even considered visiting one of LCBC’s physical locations. As a matter of fact, over 70 people who are new to LCBC have already signed up for tomorrow night’s 7pm First Steps Class online!

We kick off our 14 Easter online gatherings this Friday evening at 7pm, and they’ll continue through Monday evening. Simply send the link to a friend and invite them to connect with you this weekend for Easter At LCBC online!

On another note, your response to our daily emails, A Song & A Prayer, has been overwhelming. It’s been so encouraging to wake up each morning to a fresh reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness. And it’s been fun to see and hear from all of our Campus Pastors and Worship Leaders.

As you know, our goal as a church is to impact the state of Pennsylvania with the good news of Jesus. That’s why over the last four years we have been pulling together the pastors of Pennsylvania’s largest churches and collaborating together in this effort. So last week we reached out and invited these churches and their pastors and worship leaders to participate with us with A Song & A Prayer.

That’s why I’m excited to tell you that beginning on Thursday morning, you will also begin to hear from some of these pastors and their worship leaders as we begin to mix their songs and prayers in with our own LCBC Campus Pastors and Worship Leaders. All with the goal of sharing the good news of Jesus with more and more people throughout Pennsylvania!

Bottom line – God is alive and working in the midst of all of the upheaval around us! In the days ahead let’s keep our eyes firmly on Jesus and be watching for new opportunities to share his love with others!

See you this weekend for Easter At LCBC online,

PS – thank you for being such generous and faithful givers – in spite of all the uncertainties our giving has only been down 13% over the last four weeks – and for that we are very grateful!
