When Ashley’s parents divorced when she was four, it began a trend in her life of uncertainty. Growing up living in shelters and involved in bad relationships, she found herself pregnant at 15 and again at 19. Moving to Columbia with her two young children, she continued making bad decisions with the father of her third child, turning to a life of drugs and partying. 

Due to her lifestyle, Ashley ended up losing her house, and didn’t have anywhere to go. It was at that point that her boss took her and her three children in, and she witnessed their family attend church together. “I wanted to wake up knowing God was there in my life,” she remembers. 

A friend invited Ashley to LCBC, and it was there she realized what she was hearing was exactly what she needed. She prayed for the first time and decided to make a change in her life. 

Today, Ashley is baptized and “all in” as a follower of Christ, as are her three children and her niece and nephew. She and her family live in their own home, and she credits God for the second chance at a life for herself and her kids.
