When Pam heard about the 90-Day Tithing Challenge, her financial situation was so desperate that she didn’t think it would even make a difference for her to commit to giving her first 10% to God.
“When your rent is due and your bills are due and you don’t have the money, it’s very difficult.” She remembers.
In the middle of looking for a house to get her out of an impossible rent situation, Pam continued the challenge in faithfulness. “I didn’t know where to turn or what to do, but I just kept tithing.” Pam says.
“I told myself, ‘You said this, God, and I believe it. And even though my circumstances don’t seem like this is reality, I know that your word is true.’”
When conversations with her realtor left her feeling hopeless, it seemed like being approved for a mortgage was too far-fetched for Pam.
It was difficult to trust that God knew what he was doing, but she kept praying and talking to God during the process, all while reading the bible and taking God’s words to heart. “I told myself, ‘You said this, God, and I believe it. And even though my circumstances don’t seem like this is reality, I know that your word is true.’” Pam says.
And then, suddenly, the news came that Pam had been pre-approved for a mortgage. And not long after, a house popped up on the market that met her qualifications.
Even though Pam’s offer was lower than the asking price, the owners heard her story and wanted to bless her by accepting it. They even offered her all the furniture in the house.
Pam considers herself to be a living example of God’s willingness to bless us when we put him first in the area of our finances. “It’s just like a conversation I had with God, and he answered me."
