Ezra continues his summary of Israel’s history in 2 Chronicles. In chapters 1-4, he tells of the start of Solomon’s reign and the building of the Temple. With the Temple now complete and all of the furniture and utensils in place, God’s glory now fills the place.
In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, we are told that we are God’s temple. Just like Solomon’s Temple, God’s glory dwells in us in the form of the Holy Spirit. That presence does not come until everything is in order. For us, that means we must have trusted Jesus so all our sin can be forgiven. Knowing we are God’s temple should remind us of the need to live a holy life.
