This chapter continues to talk about the destruction of Babylon that stands in opposition to God. Babylon is described as having great power as a result of wealth and trade. Its wealth even gives it power over kings and nations. But all this will be worth nothing when God decides to judge.
Typically we spend lots of time and energy concerning ourselves with money. Financial success can come between us and God and cause us to sin. In verse 4, we are warned against doing that. In eternity, it’s not going to matter how much money you had in life, but it will matter how you got it and what you did with it. Are you honoring God with your money?
