Death is something we all think about at some point. Whether you're scared by death or not, Jesus offers us a hope that goes beyond this life. When he says, "I am the resurrection and the life," he’s pointing to something bigger than just life here on earth. He’s telling us that anyone who believes in him has the promise of eternal life, even beyond death. It’s a promise of hope that nothing, not even death, can separate us from God’s love.
But resurrection isn’t just about what happens after we die. Jesus also brings new life to the things that feel dead in our lives right now. Whether it’s a broken relationship, a lost dream, or a struggle we can’t seem to overcome, Jesus has the power to bring life and renewal to those areas. When we put our trust in him, we can experience that kind of resurrection in the here and now.
What’s something in your life that feels dead or hopeless? Ask Jesus to breathe new life into that area and to remind you of the hope you have in him, both now and for eternity.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for being my resurrection and my life. Help me hold onto the hope you offer, even in the face of uncertainty and fear. Bring new life to the areas of my heart that feel broken or stuck.
