Samuel
Samuel lets everyone know of God鈥檚 selection of Saul as Israel鈥檚 first king. The end of the chapter feels like a letdown with everyone simply going home. In the next chapter, Saul will lead Israel in a military victory.
Saul is an unlikely leader, but Samuel obeys God in appointing him king. God knows best even when it doesn鈥檛 seem to make sense.
