God’s Name
Paul begins this chapter instructing how we should be humble like Jesus. The result of Jesus’ humility was that God gave Him a name above all other names. In other words, He gave Jesus more authority and a greater reputation than anyone else.
Human ways of having a better name are to have more money, or power, or fame. God’s ways of having a greater name are to be more humble, sacrifice for others, and show love. No one but Jesus is entirely successful at considering others as better than oneself, but it is still what we are challenged to do. How can you do that in your interactions with people today?
