Jesus demonstrated unwavering faithfulness to God's will throughout his life, even in the face of trials and challenges – and death. Today, we must commit to following Jesus faithfully, trusting in God's promises and remaining steadfast in our commitment to him.
In a world where families, careers, bills, health concerns, friends, hobbies, etc. vie for our attention, it can be hard to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. We all have personal ambitions – and this isn’t a bad thing – but faithfulness to God’s vision for our lives is the path to fulfillment.
If we ask Jesus to provide us direction in life, he will. In Luke 11:10, Jesus tells us: “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” If we seek guidance in prayer and in God’s word, we will find our life path.
Still, when tragedy inevitably strikes, our faith may be shaken. At such times, it’s important to remind ourselves of who God is. The Bible assures us that the Lord doesn’t abandon us when bad things happen. Being a Christian doesn’t mean we won’t have problems, but it does mean we’ll never have to face them alone. We can persevere through life’s challenges by leaning into this truth – into Jesus – instead of pulling away.
