In our culture, love is often conditional – in order for someone to love you, you need to do something for them or bring some kind of value to the relationship.
But God shows us a different definition of love, the real definition of love: before we even loved him back, God made the ultimate sacrifice by sending his son Jesus to the cross to take away our sins. He did this knowing that he could never repay him. To God, the sacrifice was worth calling each of us his sons and daughters. That’s how much God loves us.
There is nothing you can do to make God love you more than he already does right now. He isn’t expecting you to repay him for the sacrifice he made for you. He simply wants you to receive his love, and live changed because of it.
