If you’re a parent, no matter how old your kids are, you know the power of planning ahead and setting your family up for success (or at least trying to!). From packing the diaper bag, to bath time rituals, to sending along the right snack - your job as a parent involves lots of small decisions and lots of big ones. As a church, we want to empower and equip you in one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a family - to raise your kids to know Jesus.

Whether you’re a new parent, new to faith, or just wondering why kid Dedication is important, check out 5 facts about kid Dedication at LCBC.

1. You’ll Lay A Groundwork of Faith for Your Family

kid Dedication is more than a one-time proclamation - it’s a commitment to continue to intentionally lead your family towards fully following Jesus. By taking part in this event, you’ll be publicly affirming or reaffirming your decision to ground your family in faith.

2. You’ll Be Equipped with Education & Resources

The first step in kid Dedication is joining a parent class where you’ll learn and discuss ways to lead your family in fully following Jesus. We’ll come alongside you and other parents to host important discussions and provide resources to set you up well for the future.

3. You’ll Get Connected to Other Parents Like You

Being a parent can feel isolating - kid Dedication is the perfect place to meet others and learn from one another! Bond and connect over the life stages you’re in as you work towards the same goal of raising your family to follow Jesus.

4. You Can Invite Friends & Family to Support You

The people in you and your kids’ lives are irreplaceable, and we want to make sure they can celebrate with you as you hit this milestone as a family! Invite friends and family to join you at the LCBC gathering where you’ll publicly dedicate your family to cheer you on and affirm your decision.

5. You’ll Get to Celebrate

The importance of this milestone shouldn't go unnoticed - and it won’t! To help make this moment even more memorable, we want to take time to celebrate with you. We’ll do all the work - just bring along your friends and family and enjoy marking this moment in time in your family’s journey as a part of kid Dedication.
