It’s normal to doubt. And sometimes, in our doubt, we look for random signs to solidify what we’re supposed to do. Like thinking, “If I see a red car, I’ll quit my job. If I see a blue car, I’ll stay.”
Gideon needed the reassurance of a sign, too. He was given a calling to save Israel from the Midianites, something he didn’t feel prepared to do. He prayed for a sign from God, and God graciously provided it.
When we need clarity and direction in our own lives, we can ask God for it. We can trust in his response and move forward with confidence.
