At LCBC, we strive to Gather together on the weekend, Connect in Groups, Serve one another in the church, Get Out to spread the love of Jesus in our communities, and Live Generously with our resources. When Jesus envisioned the church, it wasn’t a building—it was a group of people growing and taking steps together.

Whether it’s meeting with other moms, doing a shared activity with some work friends, or engaging with the weekend message through a video call, Groups At LCBC can meet in a variety of ways, but every Group experience has the opportunity to connect with others and keep growing closer to Jesus. Here are 3 ways to make sure you’re getting the most out of your Group each week.

1. Show Up

When you join a Group, you’re committing to meeting together consistently for 6-8 weeks. Use that time together effectively and make it a priority to be there! Create a fun incentive around it, like bringing a different dessert each week, or providing a chance to win a prize if you have perfect attendance. You won’t regret being there, and your Group will be glad you were.

2. Join In

After you’ve decided to show up, decide to participate! Groups can cover a wide range of topics and interests depending on what you agree to study. No matter where you are in your journey, be an active part of your Group, because someone will benefit from hearing what you have to say.

3. Be Real

Groups are where you can experience belonging. Don’t fake how you’re feeling or pretend you’re perfect (because no one is!). You don’t have to tell your deepest secrets, but enter into the environment with a posture of authenticity, and encourage that from everyone else in your Group, too.
